Book Giveaway - Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
I just received a brand new copy of the first book in the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead and have decided to use it as the first ever book giveaway on this blog. The truth is that I am all "vampired" out and don't have any desire to read another slightly tweaked version of an age old story. I'm sure there's someone out there still riding high on the twilight phenomenom who would appreciate it, so here's how you can enter. We had Harry Potter and wizards, now we've got Twilight and vampires. We want to know what you think the next craze will be? Just leave us a comment and you'll be entered into our random draw. The giveaway is open to any persons residing in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA or the UK. You have until Friday 11th June to get your entry in and the winner will be notified on Monday 14th June. Good luck!!

I think the next craze will be eco heroes/warriors. Like Avatar type things. I think the green/eco-friendly movement will feature more prominantly
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Melanie, werewolves are hot and sexy. i have heard some discussion that angels are the next biggie. Thats according to some Canadian press, but I'm not sure on that one.
ReplyDeleteI think there are going to be a lot more of the alternate history ones where paranormals invade books written in the 18 and 1900's .
Glad to visit and follow your new blog. arrived via bookblogs.
Steampunk; perfect mix of fantasy and dressup for adults, and it just keeps gathering momentum.
ReplyDeleteWell, probably Angels. I can't say which series because there have been so many popping up here and there but definitely Angels :)

Werewolves - they need some publicity poor things lol

I don't think the vampire craze is over yet! But werewolves and other fae folk are certainly making an apparenace (after a failed attempt to get Zombies to be the new 'hot' thing). Witches are pretty old school, but when combined with vampires they've got a whole new twist that is gaining popularity.
ReplyDeleteI'm going for angels!!

I'm feeling the Steampunk vibe... but that may just be because I recently discovered (and fell in love with) Gail Carriger's 'Soulless' and 'Changeless' (and am now counting down until 'Blameless' is released!)
ReplyDeleteThat said, the fallen/dark angel thing is definitely gaining momentum...

Oh Am I too late? It's only June 11th 1PM here =/
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone who entered our Vampire Academy competition. I promised to announce the winner on Monday, but forgot that it was a public holiday here in Australia. It's Tuesday and we can now congratulate Jacqueline C who suggested Dystopian Settings are the next big craze. Jacqueline will be receiving her brand new copy of Richelle Mead's first Vampire Academy novel shortly. Stay tuned for our next competition coming very soon!!
